England’s best XI: Gareth Southgate still has selection dilemmas to solve

England made it four wins from four European Qualifiers, but how much closer is to differentiating his team Gareth Southgate? What are? And who’d you pick?
England followed up Saturday’s 4-0 thrashing of Bulgaria on Tuesday with a 5-3 triumph over Kosovo night, meaning they’ve scored the joint-most goals.
Southgate has described England’s free-scoring frontline as one of the soccer, but their struggles in the competition of St Mary demonstrated there are still questions.
Jordan Pickford has the No 1 spot hammered down and England have a wealth of full-back alternatives, but centre-back remains a hassle for Southgate.
Southgate will be concerned that a side ranked 121st in the world, Kosovo, managed to cause them, although harry Maguire and Michael Keane were untroubled from Bulgaria.
Keane’s lost pass talented Kosovo their opener, while Maguire was culpable fouling Vedat Muriqi in the box, for their goal following his own unsuccessful clearance.
Southgate is going to be thankful for its sake of John Stones, however he made a glaring mistake in the Nations League semi-final defeat and he is also fighting to hold down a place at Manchester City.
It is a similar story to get Joe Gomez, who’s lost his place. Could Southgate use England’s October and November qualifiers ? Could he return into Brighton’s Lewis Dunk or Burnley’s James Tarkowski? one of those spots is up for grabs, although he seems wedded to a straight four.
Southgate used exactly the identical midfield three contrary to both Kosovo and Bulgaria, with Declan Rice, Jordan Henderson and Ross Barkley starting both games, but there is still plenty of disagreement on the best midfield of England.
Rice shown promise in several of his appearances for England and has escalated for West Ham, but his loose pass at the build-up into Kosovo’s second goal on Tuesday night was a reminder that he is still learning.
Southgate doesn’t have many alternatives for the holding role, but Harry Winks could count himself unlucky to not have made it. Can his passing skill give England the kind of control they lack against leading opposition? Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville explained him as a”have to” for England in summer time.
Barkley’s and henderson areas will also be up for scrutiny, especially with young creative abilities like Mason Mount and James Maddison waiting in the wings – not to mention Southgate favourite Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who is currently recovering from an accident .
England have although another option is provided by Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain Dele Alli to return from injury, and, if it’s creativity he is later, Southgate might even be tempted to have a look in a wildcard for example Phil Foden.
England are well-stocked in attack. Raheem Sterling, Harry Kane and Marcus Rashford tormented Bulgaria on Saturday, and England were more dangerous from Kosovo, when Jadon Sancho came to the team instead of Rashford and scored his first two objectives that were international.
Sancho and Rashford aren’t the only ones competing for another spot in England’s assault, although the places in the group of Sterling and kane are guaranteed. Southgate handed Callum Hudson-Odoi his senior debut in March and, he is certain to be in the framework for your squad come during the summertime, while he’s out with an injury at the moment.
It is a huge ask for anyone else to drive their way to Southgate’s strategies, but he’s an admirer of Callum Wilson and he’ll also be keeping a close watch on Tammy Abraham, who has already won two mature caps for England and could fetch something different to their assault.
